Standout Verse(s):
Isaiah 64:7-8 NLT
Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy. Therefore, you have turned away from us and turned us over to our sins. And yet, O Lord , you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.
Observation (s):
- When we don’t acknowledge God’s place in our lives, He is forced to leave us to our sinful natures.
Yet no one calls on your name or pleads with you for mercy. Therefore, you have turned away from us and turned us over to our sins.
- Abandoning us is not what God intended, in His role as our Father and Potter who shapes our lives.
And yet, O Lord , you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.
Application:
Imagine how you feel when the persons you love acknowledge your role and your influence in their lives. Does it make you feel loved, important and seen? If we, as humans, crave this recognition from our loved ones, why is it so hard for us to afford that recognition to God?
God is the Potter who shapes the clay that is our lives. When we refuse to acknowledge His influence on our lives, He is forced to hand us over to the sins that will mar the perfection of the vessels He has lovingly formed with His hands. Will you acknowledge your Father today? Call on His name.
