The Answer to a Prayer: The Power of Giving – Part 1

Pray

This year, one of my constant prayers is for God to be able to trust me to steward whatever He chooses to bless me with.

If He gets it to me, I wanted Him to trust that He could get it through me.

At the beginning of the year, I asked the Lord to show me whom He wanted to use me to bless, every month for 2020. Guys, the results and testimonies have been incredible! Over the next few months, I want to share these stories with you, in the hope that it will inspire you to have God use you in a way that you could never imagine in your wildest dreams.

December 2019 – Where It All Begun…

Towards the end of December 2019, during a season when we were all preparing to give our faith offering at church, I agreed with God to do something different. I would give my faith offering to someone He directed me to. Now I did not know when He would show me this person or even where this person would be located but I decided that whatever and whereever He willed it, one thing was certain, I would be obedient.

About an hour after we made that agreement, I saw a message from a sister-in-Christ indicating that she had been moved to give her entire January 1st rent as her faith offering. In fact, she had only US$30.00 to her name. I felt God prodding me “That’s her. I want you to give her US$300.00.”

Now that figure was a bit beyond what I had planned to give but I decided that given the vow I had made to God, there was no way I was going to back out. I reached out to her a week later and told her what God had directed me to do and asked for her help with figuring out how to get the money to her in Mexico. She could not stop thanking me and I could not stop telling her to thank God instead. 🙂

Now that was the easy part. We soon realized that sending money from Jamaica (my beautiful little island) to Mexico was not as easy as it sounded. We tried about 4 methods until another method literally landed into my lap. I tell you, when God approves a plan, He certainly knows how to clear the way. About the same period I needed to pay for a class I was scheduled to start in January. The vendor, from Australia, sent me a mode of payment to use. This method of payment turned out to be the one that got the money to my sister-in-Christ.

The day the transfer cleared, she asked to call me to share her testimony. It turned out that the money I had been led to send to her covered her rent in full and also left enough for her to fulfil her desire to have her family over for the New Year, something she had thought she wouldn’t be able to afford. As I listened, I began to cry and thank God for being the one He had used to fulfil such a need.

The Point? I assure you there is one… 🙂

Pray

In praying to be a blessing, I got an incredible blessing! I got to see first-hand, how My Father cares about me and others and will coordinate everything to work out for our good. He provided for his Mexican daughter through His daughter in Jamaica! That moment was one He prepared for from October 2019 when He allowed us to be in a group together. It made me stop to consider what would happen if more persons had a desire like the one God placed on my heart?

Hi, I`m Chañel. I used to be a people-pleaser who gave 200% because of my love for people. As a result, I almost lost my mind and my life. Today, my goal is to make sure people stop putting themselves last. And, if possible, never experience what I went through!
