Bible in 365 Days – Day 127

DAY 127

Focus Chapters:

  • Psalms 12-17
  • Psalms 19-21

Standout Verse(s):

Psalms 20:7-8 NLT

Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

Observation (s):

  1. Nations who boast of their chariots and horses will eventually fall down and collapse.

Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

  2. When we boast on the name of God, we will either stand firm or rise up, if we are struck down.

Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm.

Application:

We don’t ride horses and chariots but we have many representations of them in today’s world. Horses and chariots represent the things that we built or can control. If your testimonies focus solely on how your skills, abilities and accomplishments made room for you, you are boasting about your chariots and horses. If you trust solely in the riches and resources you have at hand, you are relying on your chariots and horses.

Imagine with me. If your horse is lame, loses a shoe or is killed or struck down during a fight, your chariot no longer moves. If your chariot loses a wheel or gets stuck in the mud, the horse is slowed or forced to a halt. Don’t get so caught up in relying on yourself and your resources that you overlook the fact that you are dependent on finite and fallible resources that can become non-existent in the blink of an eye. When they run out or fail, you will collapse and the object of your reliance will be no more.

When you rely on God for your success, you are dependent on a resource that is infinite and infallible. God never gets tired. God never loses a battle. God never gets hurt. God never has a problem He cannot solve. He is indestructible and worthy to be the object of your boastings and reliance. When you rely on Him, you will always either stand firm or rise up, when stuck down.

Your success is determined by the object of your reliance. Whom do you choose? God with infinite resources or yourself with finite resources? Choose wisely.

Hi, I`m Chañel. I used to be a people-pleaser who gave 200% because of my love for people. As a result, I almost lost my mind and my life. Today, my goal is to make sure people stop putting themselves last. And, if possible, never experience what I went through!
