Focus Chapters:
- Proverbs 17-19
Standout Verse(s):
Proverbs 19:3 NLT
People ruin their lives by their own foolishness
and then are angry at the Lord.
Observation (s):
- We ruin our lives through our own foolishness and then blame God.
When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the Lord . Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock.
Application:
We love to cast blame on everyone but ourselves! We stub our toes and blame the devil. The truth is we weren’t looking where we were going. We end up in sticky situations that put our lives in dire straits and blame or become angry with God. We love to say: “God is just taking me through a tough season.” or “God, why didn’t You stop me?” The truth is, we weren’t following God’s directions and ended up in a mess because of our own foolishness. It is time we start being honest without ourselves and take responsibility for our actions. When we point the finger to cast blame, three fingers point back at us! When things occur because of our disobedience, we should lay the blame where it belongs; at our feet.
Stop blaming God or the devil for the situations your choices and actions triggered. You made a choice! Acknowledge your fault and ask God for forgiveness, then watch Him move on your behalf.
