Bible in 365 Days – Day 153

DAY 153

Focus Chapters:

  • Proverbs 20-21
  • Proverbs 22:1-16

Standout Verse(s):

Proverbs 20:24 NLT

The Lord directs our steps,
so why try to understand everything along the way?

Observation (s):

  1. When God directs our steps, we don’t need to understand the entire plan, just trust Him.

    The Lord directs our steps,
    so why try to understand everything along the way?

Application:

I am a planner by nature. Before I step into anything, I like to know what to expect and mitigate against. My friends often tease me about the fact that I’ve had a project plan for every major project of my life…and lately, an Excel sheet prepared with research and projections before I undertake a new venture. I like to understand everything along the way and hate surprises! While these tactics ensures I am prepared, it doesn’t make it easy to trust the unknown to God and just move as He directs when I am unable to see the full picture. They make me good at my project management job but horrible at instinctively trusting God.

The truth is, when I stick to my approach, I sometimes end up wearied and upset as I try to envision and plan or react to every obstacle that comes along the path that God have set me on. More and more, I am slowing handing over the cases to God, the one who set me on my path, and letting Him handle them as I remain calm and live in the peace that passes all understanding. And you know what? God does an incredible job when I trust Him to take care of matters!

God is the Orchestrator of our lives. He directs our steps and mitigates or removes the problems that we can’t envision down the road. We don’t need to know all the steps along the way if we are trusting God’s directions.

Hi, I`m Chañel. I used to be a people-pleaser who gave 200% because of my love for people. As a result, I almost lost my mind and my life. Today, my goal is to make sure people stop putting themselves last. And, if possible, never experience what I went through!
