THE ACTION
Psalms 6:6-7 NLT
I am worn out from sobbing.
All night I flood my bed with weeping,
drenching it with my tears.
My vision is blurred by grief;
my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies.
THE REACTION
Psalms 6:8-9 NLT
Go away, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my plea;
the Lord will answer my prayer.
Observation (s):
- David was in deep anguish because of the actions or injustice of his enemies.
I am worn out from sobbing.
All night I flood my bed with weeping,
drenching it with my tears.
My vision is blurred by grief;
my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies. - David believed that the God would not leave his anguish unanswered.
Go away, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
The Lord has heard my plea;
the Lord will answer my prayer.
Application:
Can you relate to David’s cry? Have you ever experienced anguish caused by the injustices dealt by an enemy you thought was your friend? Has your enemy ever done something to you that made you weep throughout the night or made sorrow pierce your soul whenever the injustice crossed your mind? Have you ever had to cry out to God, in sorrow, because of the unjust hand that was dealt to you? Rest easy. Dry your tears. Know that the Lord has heard your weeping. Be comforted during your season of injustice. God has heard your pleas and He will respond.
