- Psalms 107
- Psalms 111-114
Standout Verse(s):
Psalms 107:2 NLT
Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
Observation(s):
- Whenever we experience God’s redemption, we should not keep it to ourselves.
Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies.
Application:
We love to boast about the good things in our lives. Whether it’s a new house, an engagement, a wedding, or a new job or promotion, when good things happen to us, we take immense pride and pleasure in yelling our accomplishments (good things) to the world or celebrating with close family and friends. It is quite endearing how we will even go the extra mile to ensure that our loved ones achieve these good things, if it is something that would be good for them as well. Why then do we behave differently when we get the opportunity to boast about God’s redemption?
God’s act of saving us from sin, error, or evil is something that is truly phenomenal. Our redemption, by God, is something to be shouted from the rooftops, to all the world. We should tell others about our experiences fuelled by God’s gift of redemption. This is news is not a secret that needs keeping. It is news we can share and share and share some more! It is time we shout it to the world: “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good! He has redeemed us from sin and our enemies.”
