Bible in 365 Days – Day 20

Focus Chapters:

  • Job 5-7

Standout Verse(s):

Job 7:11 NLT

I cannot keep from speaking.
I must express my anguish.
My bitter soul must complain.

Observation (s):

  1. In the midst of his dark situation, Job chose to cry out and complain to God. He sought God.

Application:

I remember a season of pain and anguish when I felt all alone. One night, I went to church. In the midst of the service, my heart and soul felt so heavy that I began to weep bitterly. I stepped outside into the crevice of a wall and cried my heart out to God. In that moment I felt a pair of arms wrap around me (no-one was there) and I felt at peace, deeply comforted and seen and heard by God. In that moment, I knew everything would be okay, and it was.

Crying out to God  in the midst of our dreary situation is a good tactic. Who better to complain to that the Author of our lives, the One who has the power to fix everything?

Like Job, when opposed or faced with dark circumstances, we should cry out to God with the certainty that He sees and hears us and will rescue us in due season, if we faint not.
