Bible in 365 Days – Day 44

100-days-of-Meditation-Day-44.jpg

Focus Chapters:

  • Exodus 37-38
  • Exodus 39:1-31

Standout Verse(s):

Exodus 38:22 NLT

Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Exodus 39:7 NLT

He fastened these stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod as a reminder that the priest represents the people of Israel. All this was done just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Observation (s):

  1. Bezalel did not speak directly to God yet he got his instructions and delivered as per God’s commands.

Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, made everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Application:

I want to be like Bezalel, the man who followed God’s instructions to the letter!

Have you every played Chinese Telephone? If you haven’t, the gist of the game is that a message is verbally passed on from one messenger to another. By the time the game is completed (sometimes 2-3 messengers in), the message is usually totally distorted or embellished. Bezalel had two things working against him:

  1. He did not receive the instructions directly from God. He was at the second level of communication. Things could have gotten lost in translation
  2. He was a creator by profession. He could have chosen to give way to his creativity and ignore any portion of God’s instructions that deviated from his creative sense.

Instead he stuck to God’s script! Bezalel executed his instructions so well, that he is continually indicated as “doing just as God had commanded.”

If you are like me, I like to get my instructions directly from God. When they come through a secondary source, I question it. Honestly, I question it and sometimes do my own thing even when God speaks directly to me. When I take that path, things tend not work out so well.

My question to you today is: What do you want to be remembered by God for? Will you be the person who did his/her own thing OR the person who, like Bezalel, was obedient and did just as God commanded? Choose wisely.

Hi, I`m Chañel. I used to be a people-pleaser who gave 200% because of my love for people. As a result, I almost lost my mind and my life. Today, my goal is to make sure people stop putting themselves last. And, if possible, never experience what I went through!
