Focus Chapters:
- Deuteronomy 10-12
Standout Verse(s):
Deuteronomy 10:4 NLT
Once again the Lord wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets and gave them to me. They were the same words the Lord had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the day you were assembled at the foot of the mountain.
Observation (s):
- God wrote the same Ten Commandments on the tablet that He had initially spoken to the people.
Once again the Lord wrote the Ten Commandments on the tablets and gave them to me. They were the same words the Lord had spoken to you from the heart of the fire on the day you were assembled at the foot of the mountain.
Application:
God is not like man. He is not plagued with memory issues. He is very consistent when it comes to His commands. God’s commands do not change. He issued the exact same commands to the Israelites on three separate occasions:
- He verbally issued the commands at the foot of the mountain.
- He wrote on the tablets on Moses’ first trip up the mountain.
- He wrote on the tablets on Moses’ second trip up the mountain.
It can only be expected that when God tells you to do or not do something, His commands won’t change, even if you wait a year or 100 years. Men’s words change but God’s doesn’t.
